How important is it to understand Scripture accurately? If sincere people can still end up on the wrong path, what does that mean for our pursuit of Christ?

In this short devotional, we look at the tragic story of the Donner Party as a reminder that good intentions are not enough when the map is wrong. Scripture repeatedly warns about false gospels, false teachers, and false christs while calling believers to test what they hear and to seek the truth found in God's Word. Rather than placing our confidence in tradition, denominations, or popular teachers, we are called to continually measure our beliefs against Scripture.

Reference Verse:
Psalm 119:130 (ESV)
"The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple."
