Take Note
What place should politics and government have in the life of a Christian?
In “Save the Babysitter,” we look at what Scripture says about civil government, political influence, voting, and our responsibility as followers of Jesus. Government has a God-given role, but Scripture never presents it as our savior. Our hope remains in Christ, and our primary mission remains making disciples.
Christian stewardship starts with what God has already placed in our hands: our own lives, our families, our church, our neighbors, and the people we interact with every week. Political participation can be part of that stewardship, but it cannot replace personal holiness, sharing the gospel, serving our communities, caring for people in need, praying for our leaders, and making disciples.
In this message, we consider how Christians can:
• Keep government in its proper biblical place
• Pursue personal holiness before demanding change from others
• Seek the welfare of our communities
• Speak for the vulnerable and needy
• Faithfully steward the opportunity to vote
• Respect and pray for governing authorities
• Serve in government without compromising faithfulness to Christ
• Invest personally in people across political and cultural divisions
Who has God already placed in your life whom you can invite, share with, and serve?
