Join Cedar Springs Community Church as we embark on our new sermon series, "GOODER," exploring the transformative journey of sanctification following the celebration of Easter. This series addresses the profound changes that occur once you've embraced the GOOD news of Christ's salvation, acknowledging that while significant internal transformation has begun, navigating your new reality can be challenging.
In Part 1 of "GOODER," we delve into what happens after you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. We discuss how your identity shifts immediately through positional sanctification—God now sees you as righteous because of Christ's sacrifice. Yet, there's also progressive sanctification, the lifelong process of becoming increasingly like Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Our initial teaching explains these concepts clearly, using relatable analogies such as adoption, emphasizing that becoming part of God's family is an immediate reality yet also a journey of learning and growth. We build from scriptural foundations from Ezekiel 36:26-27, Philippians 1:6, 1 Corinthians 6:11, and 2 Corinthians 3:18 to illustrate how sanctification is both a completed act and an ongoing transformation.

Inspired by Matthew 22:37-39 and John 13:34-35, this teaching emphasizes that the Christian journey involves actively loving God and others through tangible actions, thereby becoming true reflections of Christ.
