Take Note
Mother’s Day can be joyful, but it can also raise hard questions when family relationships are complicated, painful, distant, or disappointing.
In this devotional, we look at John 3:16 and consider how God shows love. God’s love is not sentimental or shallow. It is sacrificial. He gives. He moves toward sinners. He reaches out to people who have not first made themselves lovable.
That matters when we think about our earthly relationships. Some relationships are full of warmth and gratitude. Others carry grief, confusion, absence, or strain. But the love of God gives us a better foundation than our best or worst human experiences.
God loves sacrificially. God is willing to reach out to us. And in Christ, we see the clearest picture of a love that does not wait for everything to be simple before it acts.
Scripture: John 3:16
