Take Note
Amos isn’t the prophet most people turn to for comfort, but his words cut through the noise of empty religion and point us straight to Jesus.
In this week’s message, we’re looking at how God used an ordinary man to call His people back to justice, mercy, and truth. Amos was a shepherd and fig picker, but his voice carried the weight of heaven. And in his message, we hear the voice of Christ, the Rebuilder of all that has been broken.
Amos 5:21–24 (ESV):
"I hate, I despise your feasts,
and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings,
I will not accept them;
and the peace offerings of your fattened animals,
I will not look upon them.
Take away from me the noise of your songs;
to the melody of your harps I will not listen.
But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream."
Amos 9:11–12 (ESV):
"In that day I will raise up
the booth of David that is fallen
and repair its breaches,
and raise up its ruins
and rebuild it as in the days of old,
that they may possess the remnant of Edom
and all the nations who are called by my name,”
declares the Lord who does this."
