Take Note
Welcome back to our weekly devotional series as we seek Christ in each book of the Bible.
This week we’re in Ezekiel. It’s a strange book with wild visions and sharp judgment, but also real hope.
When Israel’s leaders failed, God promised a better one. Not the old David, but the Messiah. The Shepherd-King who lays down His life for the sheep.
Jesus said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
How can we be good sheep? First, we hear His voice. Jesus says in John 10:27, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” We do that by reading His word and praying. Second, we follow Him. The sheep belong to Him. Ezekiel 34:31 says, “You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
