Take Note
Why are there so many Christian denominations if believers follow the same Jesus and read the same Bible?
In this message from our FAQ series, we explore why disagreements have existed throughout Church history, which doctrines define the Christian faith, and how believers can pursue both biblical truth and genuine unity. We also consider the difference between essential doctrines, important church practices, and matters of personal conviction.
Jesus prayed that His followers would be one, but Christian unity does not require uniformity. We are called to contend for the faith, test every teaching by Scripture, extend grace to fellow believers, and keep Jesus Christ at the center.
“There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all.”
