Worthy: God Deserves Everything
Revelation 4:8–11 | October 4, 2026
Why is God worthy of our worship?
We often begin with what God has done for us: salvation, provision, answered prayer, his presence and his help. Scripture gives us every reason to thank and worship God for these things. But beneath all of them stands a more fundamental truth: God was worthy before he ever gave us anything. God deserves everything because God is God.
In the opening message of our Worthy series, we look across Scripture at the God who simply is, who has no equal, who cannot be contained or fully comprehended, and who needs nothing from us. From Moses at the burning bush, to Isaiah’s vision of the incomparable God, to Ezekiel falling on his face, Job silenced before his Creator, and finally the worship surrounding God’s throne in Revelation, Scripture continually pushes us toward a bigger view of God.
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power.” — Revelation 4:11
If we begin to see God as he is, worship becomes the natural response. It also changes how we see the people around us. We pray for our three, invite, share and serve because at the center of everything we have to offer is God himself, and we want others to see that he is worthy.
